D&R Services
D&R School Welfare Support is available to provide direct on-site assistance to Primary and Secondary schools and agencies in the planning, development and delivery of student support and wellbeing services.
Our on-site services can include:
- Guiding schools in assessing welfare needs and priorities of a school community
- Planning and maintaining effective student support structures such as referral paths and student wellbeing programs
- On site mentoring and support for individuals or staff teams picking up a welfare role for the first time, or seeking to improve their skills and knowledge
- Supervision and secondary consultation to support staff in the management of complex casework
- Supporting schools and networks in the development of project proposals and funding applications
- Assisting schools and community agencies to develop partnership connections to aid referral pathways and program delivery
D&R School Welfare Support also provide off-site Professional Development services to teachers, School Welfare Co-ordinators (SWCs) and School Student Support Officers (SSSOs).
Our off-site services can include:
- Introductory and Intermediate level training workshops for SWCs and Year Level Co-ordinators in student wellbeing
- Training in the development of prevention and early intervention programs for students at risk
- Training in counselling and assessment skills
- Professionally accredited supervision for SSSOs (Social Workers, Youth Workers)
- Preparing Dip Ed students and new graduates for the supportive role they will be called on to play as classroom teachers
